The browser settings can be selected in such a way that cookies are rejected or a warning is given before cookies are set. By setting cookies, pseudonymised IDs are assigned to users. Cookies do not execute any programs on the user’s terminal device or transmit any viruses. Session cookies are deleted from the cache at the end of the browser session.
CONNOU UG also uses cookies to increase the security of the CONNOU domain. For example, to authenticate the user during a session, to prevent cross-site scripting or to prevent phishing and fraudulent actions such as scamming.
Furthermore, tracking providers/analysis services (see also the explanations under point 5.2 Use of tracking providers/analysis services) place cookies on the user’s end device on behalf of CONNOU UG in order to record usage data. This is data that can be collected while the user is browsing the pages of the CONNOU domain or clicking on advertisements, for example. These cookies are used to display targeted advertising, to optimise reports on advertising campaigns and to avoid identical advertising being displayed more than once.
Users can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers have a setting option with which the storage of cookies can be restricted or completely prevented. However, we would like to point out that the use and in particular the user comfort of CONNOU can be limited without the use of cookies.

In addition, the user can delete individual data in the profile himself/herself at any time or request this from us via a corresponding notification.
Excluded from the deletion is data that must be kept due to legal regulations, for the execution of contracts or for the fulfilment of contracts with other users. In the event of deletion, CONNOU will therefore not delete the following data in particular immediately, but only after a period of time has elapsed:

– Payment data and data on the redemption of premiums, which we have to store for reasons of tax law. (After the expiry of the legal retention periods)

– Data that you have shared with other users in chats, such as messages or pictures (see below).
When do we delete data that a user has shared with other users?
We delete data that is publicly accessible in user profiles, e.g. profile pictures, pictures in the stream and the profile data, as soon as possible according to the above standards.
We cannot simply delete data that a user has shared non-publicly with other users on the CONNOU platform without interfering with the rights of the other users. Therefore, chat content will only be deleted once both users have deleted themselves.
When does deletion take place?

A deletion from the productive databases and thus from the interface of CONNOU takes place immediately; however, until a deletion from all server layers, cache memories and backup databases of CONNOU takes place, this can take up to 14 days.
If deletion is not possible, the data will be anonymised or blocked.

CONNOU UG reserves the right to check profile files before deletion and, if necessary, to back them up if, due to certain facts, there is a suspicion that the user profiles are using CONNOU contrary to the law or contrary to the contract. This serves the protection of the users of the offers of CONNOU UG.
Independently of the deletion of data initiated by the user through profile deletion, CONNOU deletes historical data that is no longer required for the fulfilment of the contract (e.g. historical location data as well as IP data) automatically at regular intervals.

CONNOU UG creates so-called backups to secure the data stocks, which are each overwritten after 14 days and thus finally deleted. Insofar as these backups contain log files, these are also deleted. In the event of the complete deletion of a user profile, the log files will also be deleted.

8.What data security measures are in place at CONNOU?
CONNOU UG takes user trust and data protection extremely seriously. To prevent unauthorised access to or disclosure of user data, to maintain data integrity, and to ensure the appropriate use of data, CONNOU UG implements appropriate physical, technical, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information CONNOU UG collects.
For the best possible protection of the user’s data, the CONNOU domain or CONNOU app is offered via a secure SSL connection, i.e. the data is transmitted in encrypted form both between the servers and the browser and between the servers and the app.

10. Rights of the user: consent and revocation, information, correction, deletion, transfer

The user can revoke consent at any time with effect for the future. This can be done by deleting the user profile (not the CONNOU app), at the specified places in the CONNOU app or CONNOU domain within the user profile or by e-mail, fax or letter to us:
